How does the daily advent calendar countdown work?
If you’re new here, I post daily updates on each window of the 2024 Disney Advent Calendar. I usually post updates in the morning, but sometimes if things get too busy, updates will be posted in the evening. I’ll update this post each day, as I don’t really enjoy the practice of creating new posts for each day as it keeps it so much cleaner, so bookmark this post to come back every day!
Unlike other sites, I’m actually opening each window as I go, and I’ve been able to be relatively spoiler-free to be as surprised as I can get. All reviews, thoughts and reactions are live as we go along, there are no pre-planned photos or thoughts, unless I happen to be travelling or away from home.
Do note that I’m based in Melbourne, Australia (GMT +11) so we’re ahead of most of the world (except New Zealand) so to avoid spoilers, try to come back to this post after you’ve opened your window and built the daily model especially if you’re located in other time zones.
PS: If you’re planning to buy any LEGO for Christmas and would like to support the work I do blog, please use these affiliate links if you’re shopping on Amazon, Amazon Australia or LEGO.com!
I receive a small commission if you purchase something, which helps support the work I do on the blog!
To make it easier for you to check out each day’s section, as this post is going to grow longer with every new window, all you have to do is click on the Day you want, and you will instantly jump to the corresponding section.

Like all advent calendars, the flap of the calendars fold out, to form a little playmat of sorts where the little daily mini builds and characters can be displayed. There seems to be some sort of game attached to the Disney Advent Calendar, with a dice shown on the front of the box, so it’s likely you’ll be able to play the full game when the Advent Calendar concludes.
The illustration inside features the Disney Castle (Cinderella’s Castle to be exact) covered in snow and bathed in festive Christmas lights, making it look very festive indeed!
You count upwards from 1 to 24, so don’t make the mistake of going backwards!

As always, the instructions are found on the inside of each window flap, so be gentle when opening them as you’ll need to sometimes refer to them for slightly more complicated builds!
Without wasting any time, let’s get started with the 2024 Disney Advent Calendar countdown!
Day 1

Moana 2 just came out in theatres this week (and is set to be a smash hit!), so kudos to LEGO and Disney for timing Day 1 perfectly! We get a young Moana microdoll, which has her signature hairstyle, and a cute little body which features detailed printing.
She’s come bearing gifts, with a yellow present and green ribbon. LEGO Disney Princesses have appeared in this microdoll format before (most notably in the Story Book series), but we haven’t had a mini Moana before so this is a nice pickup for collectors!
For Moana fans, and those just enjoying Moana 2 in the cinemas, getting a mini version of her on Day 1 is great fun, and younger fans especially will be happy.
That’s it for Day 1 of the 2024 LEGO Disney Advent Calendar! Check back in tomorrow to see what Day 2 brings!
Day 2

For Day 2 of the Disney Advent Calendar we get a small little beach with the Heart of Te Fiti on it! It’s a really cute microscale scene and I like the little details like a shell on the beach.

You can even pop the microdoll Moana on the beach to display it together, but I found that ir obscures the Heart of Te Fiti if you do.
Not bad so far and I’m really looking forward to seeing what we get next for Day 3!
Day 3

The 2024 LEGO Disney Advent Calendar is off to a really strong start with yet another mini Disney Princess on Day 3! We get Ariel, as well as presents that match her teal and purple colour scheme.
I wasn’t expecting another princess so early on, but I’ll take this as a win.

If we follow the pattern set by Moana, perhaps we’ll get a small little diorama to build tomorrow? Check back in to see what we get on Day 4!
Day 4

On Day 4 as predicted, we get a little diorama for yesterday’s Ariel with a simple version of King Triton’s Palace. The gold spires and towers are unmistakable here, and it’s a pretty decent design, but one big flaw is that you can’t place Ariel in it as her hairpiece is too large to fit in the arch!

Pretty good from the Disney Advent Calendar so far! Check back in tomorrow to see what we get on Day 5! Will we get another mini Disney Princess?
Day 5

With 2 microdoll Disney Princesses squared away, Day 5 gives us a spinning dice, which enables you to play the game that’s present on the board. It looks like a pretty simple game, moving your character to the corresponding coloured square, with the winner being the first to reach the end.

You should be able to spin it by twirling it with the rounded end, and giving it enough spin via the Technic axle.

I was surprised to get the dice so early, as previous Advent Calendars which contained games typically included it at the end, but I like this approach better as it prevents an underwhelming finale, plus with two characters, you are ready to play early on.
Check back to see what we get for Day 6 tomorrow!
Day 6

On Day 6 it appears that we’re swinging back to Moana with Pua, her lovable pig companion. This dashing pig also has a top hat and comes bearing gifts!

Here’s a look at his tail and grey spot. Come back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 7! A Little Mermaid animal perhaps?
Day 7

Looks like the LEGO Moana builds continue into Day 7! We get a mini version of Moana’s Wayfinding Boat, which is also coincidentally also available as a larger LEGO set.

Unlike the other builds, Moana and Pua fit on the boat really well which is a fun but playable element!
Check back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 8!
Day 8

Now that Moana has had some additional side builds, Ariel isn’t missing out as Day 8 gives us a small collection of trinkets from her Grotto! We have her bust of Prince Eric, as well as a crate with a jewel and a dinglehopper!

It’s not the most elaborate build, but fans of The Little Mermaid will appreciate this reference here. Come back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 9!
Day 9

A third microdoll princess joins us on Day 9 of the LEGO Disney Advent Calendar with Elsa! I’m not sure if its her face, but she has oddly mature features, which kinda looks a little weird on the smaller body.
That said, the print on her dress is lovely, and fans of the Disney’s favourite merchandising queen will be happy to get a new microdoll variant!

That’s it for Day 9! Will we get a miniature Ice Castle model tomorrow? Come back to find out what Day 10 will give us!
Day 10

So it’s NOT Elsa’s Ice Castle but instead some Frozen playground equipment! On Day 10, we get a Snowgie Seasaw!
It’s fun to get a Snowgie, these small mischievous magical Snowmen that Elsa conjures up with her ice powers that are super adorable.

That’s it for Day 10 so far! Come back to see what Day 11 brings!
Day 11

And there’s Elsa’s icy home! On Day 11, we get a simple model of Elsa’s Ice Castle, which looks good, but like King Triton’s Castle, it’s also a bit too small to place Elsa in.

And that’s it for Day 11! With Elsa now getting 2 accompanying builds, does this mean that we’ll get a new Princess tomorrow? Come back and see what we get on Day 12!
Day 12

On Day 12, the halfway point of the 2024 LEGO Disney Advent Calendar we get Sven, the Reindeer! It’s a cute baby version of Sven which is exclusive and new to this set!

Interestingly, Baby Sven’s body has a slot for a 1×1 curved slope, which can be removed for Elsa or another microdoll to ride!

A very cool addition to the Advent Calendar, plus it’s always exciting to get a new animal mould. Come back tomorrow to see what Day 13 brings!
Day 13

Day 13’s build is a staple of LEGO’s Advent Calendar with a sled. I do like the use of white hockey sticks for the design, and there’s a stud for you to place any of the microdolls there.

I think it’s high time for us to get another Disney princess! Let’s see if we’ll get a new character tomorrow on Day 14!
Day 14

Day 14 gives us a cheeky hint as to what Disney Princess we might get next, with a Fireplace and a Frog! There’s a cup of milk and a speckled cookie on the fireplace, as well as a lime green frog.

Looks like we might get Tiana from Princess and the Frog tomorrow! Come back to see if we’re right on Day 15!
Day 15

As expected, on Day 16 we get a microdoll version of Tiana, from Princess and the Frog! She’s super adorable, and it’s an exciting day to get a new Disney Princess, and we can definitely expect more Tiana-themed builds in the coming days.

Here’s the Princess lineup so far, and it’s looking quite great. Come back to see what Day 16 brings!
Day 16

On Day 16 we continue the Princess’ dwelling cycle with Tiana’s Palace! There are some nice colours employed here, but LEGO fans will be especially delighted to get some pretty rare elements in this build, such as the pearl gold Angry Birds crowns, and also two Yellowish Green masonry bricks, which are still quite rare!

Here’s all the Disney Princesses and their homes so far. Come back tomorrow to see what Day 17 brings!
Day 17

On Day 17 of the 2024 LEGO Disney Advent Calendar, we get a Christmas Tree. Nothing particularly special or Disney-themed about this build but it’s a well-designed tree and I like the darker green leaves at the bottom.

This seems like a bit of a filler before we get another Princess, so check back in to see what we get on Day 18!
Day 18

We get a clue as to what the next and likely final Disney Princess is in the 2024 Disney Advent Calendar with Day 18’s Madrigal House! It’s not the best representation of the magical home of the Madrigal clan, but there are some nice bits of detail such as red and dark red roof tiles, as well as multicoloured bricks used throughout to represent the different parts.

Come back tomorrow to see if we get Mirabel Madrigal tomorrow for Day 19!
Day 19

No Mirabel surprisingly! On Day 19, we get a Table with a Candle. I’m guessing that this candle is the Miracle Candle, a central part of the story and is the powerful artifact that blesses the Madrigal family with magic powers.

That’s it for Day 19! Surely we get Mirabel tomorrow!
Day 20

As expected, on Day 20, we get a Mirabel microdoll! The protagonist of hit Disney movie Encanto joins the other Princesses as one of Disney’s newest leading ladies, completing our lineup of characters which does a great job of balancing the classics and new Disney blood.

Here are all Princesses so far! Check back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 21! I wonder how we’ll finish the LEGO Disney Advent Calendar!
Day 21

This was a bit of a surprise! On Day 21 we get what seems to be the start of a combination build with a Castle Tower. There’s a wall with a clip suggesting that we have more parts to connect to it, which presumably we’ll get in the remaining few days!

This is a pretty interesting twist that I wasn’t expecting the Disney Advent Calendar to take, so I’m looking forward to seeing what we build. Come back tomorrow to see what section of the Castle we’ll get for Day 22!
Day 22

On Day 22 we get the next part of what’s looking like a mega-sized build, a Castle Entrance! There’s a printed clock tile and some festive Holly on the entrance, with clips on each side.

Here’s what the two of the Castle sections look like attached! I guess tomorrow we’ll get the next section of the Wall and Tower on the right?
Day 23

On Day 23 we get the Right Tower and Wall section for the castle!

Here are the builds assembled! Looks like the finale will complete this castle build, so check back in tomorrow to see what it looks like and a wrapup of the 2024 Disney Advent Calendar!
Day 24

On Day 24, the finale of the first LEGO Disney Advent Calendar, we get the final piece of the Castle build with the Central Tower and Balcony!

Here’s the completed model, which is one of the largest structures ever assembled in a LEGO Advent Calendar which looks quite impressive! With no Cinderella, I’m guessing the colour scheme is a nod to the OG Disney Princess!
Final Thoughts

The 2024 LEGO Disney Advent Calendar has been quite fun, and I did enjoy getting all these microdoll princesses in one go. These mini Princesses usually pop up in the Storybook Sets, so this is a great way to get so many main characters in one go, with the side animals, Pua, and Baby Sven being fun little bonuses.
The builds have been pretty generous, including the massive Castle you assemble in the final 4 days, making this feel like great value overall, and doesn’t feel like the Advent Calendar is just relying on Princess star power as its focal point.
And that concludes the first 2024 LEGO Disney Advent Calendar countdown! I think this has been a really good addition to the mix of LEGO Advent Calendars, and something that young girls especially will enjoy as an alternative to LEGO Friends.
I do hope LEGO repeats this for 2025, ideally with a different mix of Princesses, and I’d really love “Winter-themed” outfits for Disney Princesses like Belle, and more. Microdolls are fun, but I’d really like full-sized minidolls next year!
Thank you so much to everyone that’s been active in the comments section, and I hope you have a very magical Christmas and a Happy New Year!
