Unboxing

The front of the box shows off the three minifigures prominently, along with an action-packed shot of the cadets in training.

The back of the box shows off some of the set’s play features, including an alternate shot of the KE-8 Enforcer ship in its landing mode.

Inside are two numbered plastic bags and an instruction manual – no stickers included.

Build Process

Bag 1 includes the three minifigures, the two smaller sidebuilds, and a portion of the Enforcer ship.

Bag 2 completes the Enforcer model, finishing the set.

Minifigures

Three brand new clone cadet minifigures are included, all of which are identical bar accessories. Surprisingly, they feature dual-moulded legs and arm printing – both of which are relative rarities in the Star Wars theme!

I am not complaining though; the minifigures look excellent and their exclusivity elevates them to another level. The standard Clone Trooper head is used so there is no alternate face.

Completed Model

Let’s start with the smaller builds, beginning with this weapons rack. It has a simple angular design and doubles as a barrier that Clone Cadets can hide behind to take cover.

The construction design is reasonably simple, although it uses some studs-not-on-top techniques to achieve the angled shape. Three clips are present on the back where you can store the clones’ blasters.

The second build is this rotating turret; honestly this is my least favourite part of the set.

It has a pretty plain design, mostly relying on 2×2 angled black slopes for shaping. The top section rotates, with four cannons facing various directions.

The most substantial build in the set is the KE-8 Enforcer ship, which has a striking long and white design reminiscent of a Kaminoan.

The design of the ship features this lower strut that should fold down in flight mode, achieving this narrowing design that is both unique and menacing. Unfortunately, due to the size constraints of the set, there is no easy way to display this model in its flight mode.

The lower strip itself has a pretty simple design, mostly built around a 1×8 plate.

There’s some nice shaping around the cockpit, with a variety of curved bricks and slopes. Some trans-light blue plates provide an additional splash of colour.

The side view is also pretty slick – round bricks mounted on either side have brick-built engine thrusters that can rotate, and the cockpit glass element lines up nicely with the dome bricks on top.

The cockpit glass opens forward and has space for one minifigure inside.

There’s not a lot of detail inside which is understandable given the size constraints – although the pilot minifigure has to point his hands forward without any controls.

Final Thoughts

40765 Kamino Training Facility is probably one of the most unique LEGO Star Wars GWPs I can recall in the Star Wars theme’s history. It’s based on a very specific scene with a really niche ship that would probably never otherwise appear in a LEGO set, and featuring three excellent minifigures with printed arms and dual-moulded boots! It also meshes well with the UCS Jango Fett’s Slave I set given the shared Kamino theme, making it a great pairing for this year’s May the 4th releases.

40765 Kamino Training Facility is certainly a justifiable set that may be worth going out of your way to get, especially with the number of new Star Wars releases in May 2025, plus if you have your sights on 75409 UCS Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship, you’ll qualify for this immediately. Indeed, if the minifigures stay exclusive, this set may be incredibly sought-after for years to come, like
