Review: LEGO 30702 Mario Kart Toad (Pit Crew) polybag

LEGO’s Mario Day offers are now live online! As we approach March 10, which is affectionately known as Mario Day (Mar10, geddit?) and LEGO has a few LEGO Super Mario themed offers from 5-15 March 2025.

You’ll receive 2x LEGO Insider Points on all LEGO Super Mario purchases, and you’ll also receive a 40702 Toad Pit Crew polybag when you spend US$40 / AU$65 / £35 / €40 on LEGO.com from 5-15 March 2025.

LEGO and Nintendo also usually reveal something special on Mario Day. Last year, we got to see new LEGO Super Mario sets and a teaser for Mario Kart and in 2023, we got to see LEGO Donkey Kong make his debut, so hopefully we get a juicy reveal this year! Maybe the first look at the Game Boy set?

Here’s a quick look at the 40702 Toad Pit Crew polybag! I didn’t get mine from LEGO’s online website, as I think 2x Insider Points, and just a polybag isn’t the most enticing offer unless you really want the points and another Toad.

I’m lucky enough to be in Australia, where our LEGO Certified Stores (that includes Dreamworld and Legoland Chadstone), so I picked one up for AU$8 over the weekend as I thought it looked like a fun build.

The set is super simple, you get a small Pit Stop, with place to hold a tyre, a screen, and simple trolley and that’s pretty much it!

The highlight of the polybag is getting another Pit Crew Toad figure, which looks awesome. All the decorations are printed which is awesome, and he just looks like a whole lot of fun!

Here’s a look at the side of his head where he has a Mushroom printed on it.

There’s also a LEGO Mario interactive tile, which is compatible with your LEGO Mario figure.

There’s also a trolley for the Pit Crew Toad to move the Tyre from the Pit Stop to a non-existent Mario Kart, but this one was a little fiddly, as it was very hard for the Toad figure to hold onto the handles. You can see it in the photo above, where it’s just holding on to the edges of his hands.

So yeah, a pretty good polybag, especially if you’re collecting the LEGO Mario Kart sets, especially the bonus of adding another Pit Crew Toad to your collection!

You can check out the LEGO Website for all the 2025 Mar10 Day offers which run until 15 March 2025!
